Liu Huiyan, Yunnan vice-governor, met with a visiting Thai delegation headed by Boonsong Techamanisatit, governor of Chiang Rai Province in northern Thailand, on Feb. 25 in Kunming, capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province.

“Yunnan has attached great importance to friendly cooperation with Chiang Rai, and bilateral relation has yielded fruitful results since it was established 15 years ago,” said Liu.

Currently, Yunnan is speeding up its connectivity construction with its neighboring countries, trying to serve the national Belt and Road Initiative. The governor hopes that the two sides could strengthen exchanges among teenagers and deepen cooperation in trade, tourism, and agriculture.

Liu also invited guests from Chiang Rai to attend the 4th China-South Asia Expo, which will be held in Kunming in June this year.

In response to Liu, Boonsong Techamanisatit said that Chiang Rai will enhance exchanges among teenagers, and further promote cooperation with Yunnan in  terms of trade, logistics, tourism, agriculture and build-up of industrial parks.
