What is the most beautiful and unforgettable bridge you have ever seen? On this planet, there are many kinds of bridges. Each of them has its own uniqueness and stories. From now on, we will introduce you various types of bridges in Yunnan and tell you the stories behind them. Today, we come to Tongjing Bridge and Songshui Bridge in Yunlong County--“Home of Bridges in west Yunnan".

Tongjing Bridge

400 meters long and 4 meters wide, the Tongjing Bridge was first built in the Qing Dynasty(1644-1912) for transporting silver ore across Bijiang River.

Since the silver was transported to Beijing, the bridge got its name "Tongjing". It is of wooden frame and is the largest single span bridge of its kind.

Songshui Bridge

Across the Bijiang River, rattan bridges have existed for thousands of years and are regarded as living fossils of bridges.

Songshui Bridge is one of the rattan bridges. Most part of the bridge is natural. Without piers, the two ends of the bridge are tied to trees on the two banks of the rivers.

Weaving wild vines on the crossing beams and paving planks on the bottom of the net, local people miraculously build the bridge.

If you are at the bridge, you may marvel at local people's wisdom and exquisite skills with profound admiration.
