17th China-Myanmar Paukphaw Carnival kicks off in Ruili
Ethnic cultural parade, colorful oxcart show, friendship tug of war, delicacies, folk sports games… In west Yunnan's Ruili City, the 17th China-Myanmar Paukphaw Carnival kicks off recently. Border residents from both China and Myanmar participated in the carnival which was first held in 2000.
China and Myanmar are linked by mountains and rivers and people on the two sides have a long history of friendly exchanges. In the past seventeen years, the carnival has witnessed the deepening of China-Myanmar friendship.
