West Lake in Dali

When it comes to the West Lake, you may think about the one in Hangzhou, capital city of east China’s Zhejiang Province. In fact, there are a total of 36 lakes which are called the West Lake in the country, and the one in Dali of Yunnan Province is one of them.

Though not as renowned as the one in Hangzhou, the West Lake in Dali is beautiful in landscapes. Lying at the foot of the Cangshan Mountain, Eryuan County of west Yunnan’s Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, it is a freshwater lake and a main water source of the famous Erhai Lake.

Traveling in the West Lake scenic spot, you will find as if you are in a beautiful place located in the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Around the lake which is 3.3 square kilometers, there are six Bai people’s villages, and in the lake there is a islet. If you can have an aerial view of the West Lake, you will find an scroll of traditional Chinese painting in which villages intertwines with the lake in a beautiful and delicate way.

Rowing a boat from village to village is a best way to experience the local leisurely and comfortable life. If you are hungry, the snacks made by Bai people are very tasty and mouth-watering. At night, check in a local inn, enjoy your sleep in the quietness of the night, and in the next morning you will wake up amid of the sound of birds.
