The Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) met with visiting National Council for Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia Motherland (SFDCM) here on Monday to discuss future cooperation.
The Cambodian delegation is visiting Vientiane from Saturday to Wednesday to further strengthen relations between the two countries' popular fronts.
During his five-day visit to Laos, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the National Council for SFDCM, Nhem Valy, and his delegation on Monday met with the President of the Lao Front for National Construction, Xaysomphone Phomvihane.
At the meeting, the two sides reviewed their cooperation agreement for 2012-2016 and discussed the draft of an agreement expected to be signed for cooperation in 2018-2020, local online newspaper Vientiane Times reported on Monday.
The 2018-2020 agreement includes furthering the longstanding solidarity and friendship between the peoples of the two nations, strengthening information exchanges, and increasing exchanges and high-level delegation visits for experience sharing.
Cooperation should focus on shared operations between the two organizations particularly along their shared border, supporting each other in socio-economic and infrastructure development, tackling the impacts of natural disasters, as well as creating a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
