The 2018 Training Seminar on Flower Cultivation and Processing for Cambodia opened in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on October 16.

Sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and organized by Yunnan International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges, also called Yunnan Training Base for Aiding Foreign Officials (YTBAFO), the 30-day seminar attracted 40 officials from the Cambodia Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and provincial agricultural departments across Cambodia.

The Cambodian seminar marks the first overseas training program organized by the YTBAFO. During previous visits to Cambodian agricultural departments, the Chinese side got to know about Cambodia's technical needs in flower cultivation and processing.

Based on the Cambodian needs and Yunnan’s experiences in flower growing, the YTBAFO formulated the training program. Fusing theories into practice, the training seminar aims to promote flower cultivation and processing in Cambodia, improve local employment and living standard, and increase the Yunnan-Cambodia cooperation in flower business.

In the coming days, Chinese agricultural experts will conduct in-depth exchanges and varied discussions with Cambodian participants in light of realities of the flower industry in Cambodia.
