Thailand's Chonburi wins Yunnan International Football Tournament
Thai side Chonburi won the title at the 2018 Belt and Road Colourful Yunnan International Football Tournament here on Sunday, beating Belgrade FK Zvezdara from Serbia 3-2 in the final.
Worachit Kanitsribanpem opened scoring for Chonburi in the 18th minute, and Filip Dordevic from Zvezdara scored the second at 57th minute. Then Chonburi broke the deadlock and won a penalty, and Worachit changed the score to 2-1 at the 63rd minute.
Chonburi's defence looked a little slack, Zeljko Grujicic of Zvezdara collected the ball inside the penalty area, kicked a low shot and equalized in the 86th minute.
Two minutes later, Lukian Araujo De Almeida of Chonburi got the ball from the left, he kicked it down to the bottom corner to put the team 3-2 up. The result remained the end, and Chonburi were crowned champions of the event.
The 2018 Belt and Road tournament, running from December 8-16, features eight clubs from five countries.
The tournament is an international football competition held by the Chinese Footbal Association, the Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Sport, aiming to build a platform for exchanges in the sports field with the countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".
