Kunming offers foreigners 6 day visa-free transit
Starting on January 1, 2019, foreigners from certain countries will be eligible for a 144-hour visa-free stay in the Chinese spring city of Kunming, according to a news release by Yunnan local police on December 25.
Kunming Changshui International Airport will carry out the new policy that extends the existing 72-hour visa-free period for foreigners to 144 hours but confines the passengers activities within the Kunming administrative area.
The new arrangement aims to bring in more foreigners to travel and conduct business in Kunming and Yunnan at large.
People from the following 53 countries with valid travel documents and onward travel booked for within 144 hours are eligible for the visa-free transit.
