Gatangpa Festival: Gallery of ethnic songs and dances

Stilt works, swings, crossbow shooting, gyro playing and other traditional folk sports and entertainment activities, as well as local commodities fairs are held during the Gatangpa Festival, which is an annual grand traditional celebration of the Hani people in south Yunnan’s Xishuangbanna.

The Hanoi people’s Gatangpa Festival is usually celebrated at the beginning of every January in Xishuangbana Dai Autonomous Prefecture, southern Yunnan. 

On this day, Hani People dress themselves in festive costumes and celebrate the festival together with people from other various ethnic groups. Hani Bamboo Dance, graceful Dai Dance, ancient folk songs and happy pop songs are jubilantly performed both on and off the stage.
