Say “bravo” to Yunnan theatrical art

Yunnan operas and folk art captivate the younger audience with their charm.

All seats are occupied in the Yunnan Dian Opera Theater in Kunming from Jan 15 to Jan 19, as the first Yunnan Traditional Opera and Folk Art Joint Performance was staged.

The 33 presented shows cover all the 21 national and provincial intangible cultural heritages in Yunnan in the field of traditional opera and folk art.

Ethnic operas, including Bai Opera, Dai Opera and Zhuang Opera, as well as folk art such as the Tengchong shadow play, all won big applause.

According to the artists, they hope to promote the traditional culture among younger generations through their performance.
