Haiphong woman promotes Vietnamese food in Kunming
Hidden in an alley of Kunming, capital city of southwest China’ Yunnan Province, there is a 26-year-old Vietnamese steamed rice rolls restaurant. Thanks to the delicacies made by Rui Zhen, the boss of the restaurant who is from the port city of Haiphong, Vietnam, many Kunming citizens get addicted to Vietnamese food.
Rui Zhen has been living in Kunming for 26 years. Every Day, from dawn to dark, she is busy with making steamed rice rolls and treating guests. Since its opening, her restaurant becomes increasingly popular among Kunming citizens and some even come from a long way to taste the steamed rice rolls in her restaurant.
The success of Rui Zhen’s business lies in the quality of key ingredients she uses in making the rice rolls. All are imported from Vietnam.
In making steamed rice rolls, the whole process takes about 11 minutes, including pouring prepared rice milk into a steamer, adding stuffs like herbs, vegetables, pork, and prawns, and rolling the steamed rice paper.
Last but the most important is the sauce, which is a mix of nuoc-mam, lemon and soy sauce. It has different tastes and the guests can choose whatever they like on the basis of their own favor.
In addition, the local cuisines such as picked mango, porridge and coffee are also served in the restaurant. Now, Rui Zhen is considering opening a branch.
