1st Yunnan snow and ice carnival held at Mt. Dahaicao
The first Yunnan snow and ice carnival was recently launched at Mt. Dahaicao in Huize County, northeast of the province. The 4,017-m Dahaicao forms peak of the Wumeng mountain range.
Covering 190,000 square meters, the Dahaicao International Ski Resort is the largest of its kind in Southwest China, and it has 3 primary snow trails, 1 intermediate snow trail and 2 high grade ski tracks.
Also, 20 plus merry-making facilities are equipped at the ski resort, including snowmobiles, snow rings, and more. All will help grant you an exciting experience.
If you are a green hand in skiing, the resort offers one-on-one training, beginning with the basics. Just relax and try your best. Skiing is not as difficult as you imagined.
What’s more, local dishes for wintering are tasty.
The eight-bowl feast
The bowls contain pork, Babao rice, crispy meat, cool ingredients, pork with green cabbage, steamed pork, fried ribs and cashew nuts, and others.
Huize mutton
The black goats for mutton are nourished by fresh air and organic herbs in the mountains, so their meat tastes great regardless of the cooking method.
Travel tips
Mileage: The Dahaicao resort is 230 kilometers from Kunming, the provincial capital. It’s a 180-minute car ride.
Charge: A two-hour service costs 180 yuan/each person on weekends and 120 yuan on weekdays, involving snowshoes, sleds, magic carpets and cable cars.
