In pics: Coffee-planting reduces poverty in southwest Yunnan

Picture taken by a Xinhua reporter on February 2 shows Na Fuqiong (right) chats with a local couple. The family grows two hectares of coffee, bringing them an annual income of 70,000 yuan. 

Ning'er County is a major coffee-planting area in Yunnan, and Na Fuqiong has been a leading coffee grower in the county.

In 2012, Na Fuqiong set up her own coffee trading company, benefiting 1,267 households of local coffee growers over the past years.

Currently 6,933 hectares of coffee is grown in Southwest Yunnan’s Ning'er County.
