Though spring has arrived, northwest Yunnan’s Shangri-La seems left behind in a fairytale world of winter, where the scenery is so breathtaking. Recently, tourists visiting the Meili Snow Mountain, Sumtsaling Monastery and other places in Shangri-la were presented with picturesque views.
Described as a haven of peace and tranquility by British author James Hilton in his novel “Lost Horizon”, Shangri-La is a mysterious and enchanting place. And in realty, the place exists in northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. If you pay a visit to Shangri-La, you may find that it is just the place depicted in the “Lost Horizon”.
