Exhibition of 100 women artists underway in Bangladesh
A weeklong art exhibition‘Madhobilata’featuring the art works of hundred women artists is underway at the National Art Plaza of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh.
Marking the International Women’s Day, BSA and the University of Development Alternative (UODA) have jointly organised the exhibition with participants of current as well as former female students of the university’s Fine Arts Department.
Speaker of the Parliament Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury inaugurated the exhibition as the chief guest on Tuesday at 5pm, while former secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office Suraiya Begum and Founder and President of UODA Professor Mujib Khan were present as guests at the event.
Presided over by BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, chairman of the Fine Arts Department of UODA Professor Shahjahan Ahmed and convener of the exhibition Kaniz Sohani Islam, a senior faculty of the UODA Fine Arts Department, delivered speeches at the event.
Artistes of BSA staged a special production ‘Mohiyoshi Nari’ directed by Liaquat Ali Lucky at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
The exhibition is open to all every day from 10am to 8pm (3pm to 8pm on Friday) until March 12.
