Antique cars depart from Vietnam’s Haiphong
The 2018 Hong Kong Antique Car Yunnan-Vietnam Run is held from Nov. 21 to Nov. 27. These eye-catching cars departed from Vietnam's Haiphong on the morning of Nov. 22.
The eight antique cars participating in the event are a Ford V8 Coupe produced in 1937, a Morgan (1979), a Volkswagen Touring (1966), an Aston Martin V8 (1980), a Ferrari 550 (1999), a Ferrari Mondial (1986), an Alfa Romeo Spider (1973) and a Mercedes 280S.
Making their way along the "Kunming-Lao Cai-Hanoi-Haiphong-Quang Ninh" economic corridor, these antique cars will cover a journey of over 1,000 km through five provinces in China and Vietnam.
After a few days, they will enter China via Lao Cai and arrive in Kunming, the final destination of the event.
These antique cars are also favored by the locals. Some of them said that they saw cars like this for the first time and they then took a lot of pictures.
The event, which is jointly organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the Yunnan Provincial Government and the Hong Kong Xinhua Finance Agency, aims to enhance the trade competitiveness of the economic corridor and deepen pragmatic cooperation between Yunnan, Hong Kong and the northern provinces of Vietnam.
