China's Singles' Day sales, falling on November 11, hit a record 213.5 billion yuan on TMall. The shopping spree reflects the changes and upgrading of supply and consumption in Yunnan Province.

Alibaba said that by 9 a.m. last Sunday, the amount of sales made by Yunnan buyers exceeded 2.15 billion yuan, which was the total amount reached in the whole day of Nov. 11, 2016.

According to ‪JD.com, Yunnan posts the highest year-on-year growth rate of the cumulative consumption amount in the country this year.

As for goods categories, while Yunnan consumers preferred to purchase computers, mobile phones, household appliances as well as shoes and bags ten years ago, their consumption becomes more diverse and personalized this year, featuring a significant increase in buying fresh products, personal care and pets.

Yunnan specialties such as pomegranates, oranges, matsutakes, flower cakes and Pu‘er tea have expanded markets in the online sales promotion as well. On Nov. 11, Kunmingnan Railway Station sent eight tons of goods through high-speed railway expresses, and they mainly included Yunnan specialties. The average daily freight through high-speed railway is expected to hit six tons during this week.
