Old Town of Lijiang spruced up with flowers

The Dayan Old Town of Lijiang, Yunnan province has taken on a new look as it was recently embellished with 40,000 flowers.
The flower exhibition got underway on Feb 11 and will last until March 11, it will be a pleasing site for all flower fanciers.

The exhibitions have been set in 10 places of the old town displaying 35,540 exquisite bonsais such as daffodils, violets, pansies and tulips.
A variety of flowering plants like Belgian Azalea, plum blossom and Chinese crabapple make up roughly 5,000 shapes including balls, pyramids and dragons to adorn the city.

Accompanied by the splendor and floral scents, Dayan is offering even more by hosting ethnic cultural performances and making courtyards with Naxi characteristics open to the public.
A team of at least 80 volunteers are also in service from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, mainly in crowded areas like Yuhe Square, East Street and Sifang Street to offer timely services including route advice, security and disputes resolution.
Tourists flock to the flower-wonderland, looking for a chance to take in the radiant colors and natural beauty.
