Located in the southwest part of Yunnan Province, the Jingmai Mountain is regarded as a world-class tea museum where wild ancient tea trees of 2,700 years old, half-wild and half-cultivated ancient tea trees older than 1,000 years are discovered.

For more than one thousand years, native people living in Jingmai Moutain have built a close and friendly interaction with the ancient tea plantations based on discovery, cultivation and utilization of tea, thus forming a charming mountain settlement landscape and rich regional ethnic culture. Local tea farmers believe there is “spirit of trees” in each field. Worship ceremony is held every April to pray for the blessings from tea ancestors and for a good harvest.

If you walk into the villages embedded in Jingmai Mountain, you will be definitely enchanted with the refreshing air and lush green. Besides the old tea trees, Jingmai Mountain is renowned for its cultural heritage with dazzling ethical tea traditions. In 2012, Jiangmai Mountain was listed in the third batch of “China’s World Heritage Tentative List”.
