"Chinese Bridge" competition held in Bangladesh

The preliminary rounds of 12th Chinese bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for foreign secondary school students was held in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka on Thursday.
The competition featured diverse performances, including speeches, dancing, martial arts and contemporary music.
Some 200 students applied to attend the competition from a number of leading Bangladeshi institutions. Six students from BIT (Bangladesh International Tutorial),Confucius Institute at North-South University and from CRI-SMF Confucius Classroom join the final competition held in North South University Thursday.
Ruquiyah Binte Kalam from BIT won the first prize.
The Chinese embassy in Dhaka, Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) jointly organized the competition in association with Bangladesh's Dhaka University Confucius Institute, North South University Confucius Institute and CRI-SMF Confucius Classroom.
Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh Sun Yan, Benajir Ahmed, chairman of Board of Trustees of North South University, Atique Islam, vice chancellor of North-South University, among others, were present at the program and handed over certificates to the winners.
Students who win the preliminary rounds held in their respective countries finally qualify to go to China for the finals.
