Yunnan further protects its nine major lakes

Yunnan has continued its efforts in protecting the nine major highland lakes in the province in recent years.

So far, 22% of the 13th Five-Year Plan projects regarding the lakes were completed, with 77% lake-conservation projects under construction. 28.5 billion yuan has been invested in these projects, accounting for 49% of the total investment in the 13th Five-Year Plan period.

In 2018, the Fuxian and Lugu lakes reached the first-class in water quality, and that in the lakes of Yangzonghai and Erhai met the Class III standard. The water quality of Dianchi Lake has grown to be the best in the recent 30 plus years.
