Beam-laying completed on the longest bridge of Chinese section in China-Laos Railway

On the morning of August 6, a T-beam, which is 32 meters long and weighs 134 tons, was firmly laid on the Ganlanba Bridge in Jinghong City, south Yunnan Province, marking the completion of beam-laying project of the longest bridge in the Chinese section on China-Laos Railway (Kunming-Vientiane).

According to data released by China Railway Group, Ganlanba Bridge is 3.5- kilometer long and has 108 piers. The beam laying had lasted four months. Since the bridge crosses fields, fishpond, banana forests and rubber forests, the designers and builders take environmental protection and local people’s livelihood into careful consideration.

The China-Laos railway is of great significance the Belt and Road construction. It will help Laos to transform from a land-locked country to a land-linked one.
