Exhibition opens in Yunnan to mark 70th anniversary of PRC founding

On September 25, an exhibition was opened to public in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China(PRC). It displays the outstanding achievements Yunnan has made in the past 70 years and will last to December 5.

Themed “Outstanding achievement in 70 years, striving for a better life in new era ”, the exhibition covers a displaying area of 7,500 square meters and is divided into four parts. In addition, four specialized sub-exhibitions were also open in the same place simultaneously.

The more than 90,000 Chinese characters and 3,600 photos show the great changes Yunnan has undergone through in the past 70 years, together with 500 items including archives, life utensils of different ethnic groups, medals and honorary certificates. 

Advanced technologies like holography, VR, AR are applied in the exhibition to improve the experience of visitors. For example, they can wear VR glasses to have an immersive first person view at the beautiful scenery of Yunnan in the exhibition. Mini programs are also created to realize online visits for those who can’t come to the exhibition in person. (Yunnan Daily)
