FC Barcelona opens football academy in Yunnan’s Lijiang

The Spanish football giant FC Barcelona recently opened a football academy in northeast Yunnan’s Lijiang. This will provide chances for local teenagers to know more about the club's training model, philosophy and values.

Last year, FC Barcelona signed an agreement with Yunnan Baiyao to establish three Barça Academies in the Yunnan cities of Lijiang, Kunming and Yuxi.

The establishment of Barça Academies is part of the plan to promote football among children aged from 6 to 12 and the development of football in Yunnan.

Besides, the academies will provide comprehensive training for young athletes by introducing the unified selection and training system, and using the model of Barca Academy football camps.

Right now, the Kunming academy has already been put into operation. And construction of the Yuxi academy is still underway.
