“China-Laos Tourism Year” cultural festival kicks off in Kunming

As one of the activities of “China-Laos Tourism Year”, the Splendid Silk Road Cultural and Art Festival opened in Kunming, capital of southwest China’s Yunnan province on March 8, attracting more than 1,500 people from different walks of life of both China and Laos.

The year of 2019 is the “China-Laos Tourism Year”. The Splendid Silk Road Cultural and Art Festival aims to promote the economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries. 

During the event, Lao artists, dressed in their festive costumes, performed traditional songs and dances and Lao delicacies are presented to visiting guests, showing the unique charms of Lao tourism.

Chinese cultural activities were also held, including one-thousand-person cheongsam fashion show and tea ceremony.
