11.9 million trips made in Yunnan during May Day holiday

Yunnan saw a total of 11.928 million tourist trips made during the four-day May Day holiday that ended on May 4, according to Yunnan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

The province's total tourism revenue reached 9.158 billion yuan, of which the tourists who stayed overnight(s) contributed 5.142 billion yuan, while one-day visitors brought Yunnan an income of 4.016 billion yuan.

Kunming, Honghe, Yuxi, Zhaotong and Dali emerged as the top 5 destination among the 16 prefectures/cities of Yunnan Province in the holiday which lasts from Wednesday to Saturday. 

The "Travel in Yunnan" app remained to be popular among tourists because of its one-stop information service that features live streaming, suggested routes and other conveniences.
