China sets an example in fighting COVID-19: Paisal Puechmongkol
"China has taken a number of measures to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 and block its transmission, and has achieved significant results," said Paisal Puechmongkol, vice chairman of the Thai-Chinese Cultural and Economic Association during a recent interview with our reporters.
Paisal Puechmongkol highly praised the "pairing-up" support policy adopted by China of arranging 19 other provinces to support cities except Wuhan in Hubei province. He said the policy reflects the superiority of the Chinese system. The Chinese people have the courage to sacrifice and they have set an example for other countries in the world in the fight against the epidemic.
“Now, the number of confirmed cases sharply dropped and that of the cured cases are increasing greatly in China. These results are inspiring other countries in the world to fight the disease,” he said.
Paisal Puechmongkol said that the Thai royal family and Thai government actively support Chinese government in fighting the epidemic and encourage the Thai people to stand with the Chinese people. And some Thai non-governmental organizations have provided help for stranded Chinese tourists in Thailand. Others have cooperated with Chinese scientific research team to seek treatment measures.
He expressed that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China would surely control the epidemic and achieve ultimate victory. “I believe that in the near future, China will also help other countries fight the epidemic and provide assistance within its ability. The Thai-Chinese Cultural and Economic Association will continue to support China and to deepen exchanges and cooperation with China in economy, trade, and culture,” he said.
