Flamingos first spotted in N.E. Yunnan

Flamingos were first spotted at Nian Lake, northeast Yunnan's Huize County. Photos taken by shutterbugs on Nov. 14 showed that two flamingoes were flying across the wetlands in the lake area. 

The flamingoes are rare birds in China which are under second class national-level protection. Covering an area of 13.5 square meters, the Nian Lake is a heaven for wintering birds.
