Pear blossom decorates leisure town in south Yunnan
Online Xinhua pictures show beautiful pear blossoms in Puxiong township, south Yunnan’s Jianshui County.
The white flowers remind locals of a famed line lauding snow sight in ancient Chinese poetry: “As if the vernal breeze had come back overnight, Adorning thousands of pear trees with blossoms white.”
In recent years, Puxiong Township has developed its flavor of canned pears into an industry for poverty relief. Now, pear trees are plated on 4,000 Chinese acres of land, bringing locals an income of 10 million yuan.
Typical tourist attractions in Jianshui County involve the Swallow Cave, the Zhu’s Family Garden and the Confucian Temple. The latter two are located in the leisure county seat, while the Swallow Cave is one-hour bus ride from the town.
