Vietnamese mission has online sales via 2021 SSACEIF
The Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming held a live stream event at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center on August 25, promoting the country’s specialties, snacks and tourist destinations via the online exhibition of the 2021 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF).

“This is our new products this year, and I hope it will be another choice for our customers,” said Đỗ Quốc Hương, the Vietnamese business consul in Kunming. Đỗ added the ongoing 2021 SSACEIF is helpful for Vietnamese companies to go global and the online trade fair will be a key Vietnam-China trade carrier amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I first had online sales in December 2020, when the Everlasting China-South Asia Online Expo was in Kunming, Yunnan province,” recalled Đỗ. This year, the Vietnamese displaying area was occupied by prawn, honey, dried fruits, Saigon coffee and more.

The Vietnam online event was highlighted by a cooking show. “The fired spring rolls in north Vietnam, together with pineapple rice and steamed rice rolls in central and south Vietnam, are highly popular among tourists in the country,” said Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc, wife of Nguyễn Trung Hiếu, consul-general of Vietnam in Kunming.
Following the cooking by Nguyễn Bảo Ngọc, a group of actors in traditional costume of Ao Dai performed a Vietnamese song that shows patriotism and ethnic unity in the ASEAN nation.
