Sky-night torrent frog found in east Yunnan

Staff members at the Wenshan national nature reserve bureau in east Yunnan province recently recorded a brand new animal species, which was confirmed to be the sky-night torrent frog by professor Yuan Zhiyong at Southwest Forestry University.

Statistics say the male torrent frog has a body length of 71.3 to 76.6 mini meters, while the female frog body ranges from 69.3 to 96.8mm. They enjoy living in the streams near rapids or waterfalls, which are surrounded by lush woods.

The staff members at the Wenshan reserve also found crocodiles and some beautiful birds, all under Class II state protection in China.
