COP15: Mucuna sempervirens, ‘pythons’ in tropical forest

Updated:2021-08-30 19:27:17

When walking deep in the mountains of Jiangcheng County, southwest Yunnan’s Pu’er City, you can see the "giant python" of plants winding around in the tropical rainforest——Mucuna sempervirens.

The vines grow very fast, providing an ecological environment for other species. Tiny epiphytes are nourished, and countless plants thrive on the “pythons’ body.
