Kunming rolls out incentive package for NEV taxis

New promotional incentives for adopting the new energy vehicle (NEV) taxis will be given for the replacement of fuel taxis in Kunming, capital city of Yunnan province, said Zhang Xinghu, director of the Kunming Taxi Administration Bureau.

The taxi owners who will have changed to a NEV taxi by April 30, 2022 will receive a monthly incentive of 3,245 yuan in two years for their role in energy conservation and emission reduction. 
 
For replacements between May 1 and December 31, 2022, a monthly subsidy of 2,500 yuan will be given for 2 years. At the same time, two vehicle taxes will be exempted, with after-sales services provided.   

At present, 12 battery swap stations for NEV taxis have been built in Kunming, 10 of which are in operation. And another 40 swap stations will be built in the city.   
 
With the advantages of low noise, energy saving and riding ease, NEV have a good prospects in China.
