Kunming’s hospital of maternal and child health to open new branch

A new branch of the Kunming City Maternal and Child Health Hospital is scheduled to be opened by the end of this year, according to this specialized medical institution.

Sitting in the Chenggong District of Kunming, southwest China’s economic and cultural hub, it recently finished its 3-year-construction which kicked off in late 2018.

With an overall investment of 660 million yuan, the branch has a gloss floor area of 88,000 square meters.

Once this newly-built branch is put into use, as many as 500 beds will be provided all year around.

Medical services covering not only gynecology, pediatrics and neonatology but a wider range of areas such as Chinese medicine, rehabilitation, ophthalmology, otolaryngology and stomatology will be available.

A national-level key laboratory which focuses on the research of tumor, birth defect, reproduction and genetics, and also infectious diseases will be set up in the branch.

The Kunming City Maternal and Child Health Hospital expects that this cooperation will help level up its research capability, as well as medical and managerial practices.
