Updated:2021-09-01 18:28:42

Located in Sanyuan village of Baisha Ancient Town in west Yunnan’s Lijiang City, the Bengshi Naxi handmade embroidery store not only inherits traditional technique but also innovates novel and unique needle work.

The embroidery handicrafts are indispensable daily necessities and decorations in the life of Naxi people.

Walking into the store on Aug. 28, visitors saw works displaying all kinds of figures, animals, landscapes, and even world-famous paintings. Every piece of work is integrated into the embroiderers' aesthetic thoughts, showing their inner world of art feelings.

There are more than 60 embroiderers here, most of whom are villagers near Baisha Ancient Town. Some works need several people to work together to complete. For example, when knitting "Night Banquet”, it took four embroiderers more than three years to complete the work.

The embroidery of this store employs innovative stitches and patterns, and it is a modern interpretation of Naxi intangible cultural heritage.
