Losang Namgyal poses for a portrait in Qamdo City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Feb. 19, 2021. Losang Namgyal, once a serf in old Tibet, started to work for serf owners when he was no more than seven years old. Laden with heavy taxes, his families faced harsh punishments for minor mistakes. He once saw his grandfather being beaten while hanged up, only because the hunt harvest didn't pleased the serf owner. After the democratic reform, Losang Namgyal attended school for the first time in 1961 when he was 12. After graduation, he became a local official and made great progress for the local agriculture production. (Xinhua/Sun Fei)
