Northbound elephants turned cultural products at expo

The northbound wild Asian elephants that roamed in Yunnan and gained international fame earlier this year have been translated into cultural products at the ongoing Creative Yunnan Culture Industries Expo 2021.

Stories of the celebrated Asian elephants have been creatively rendered into designs of various cultural products, including the elephant-themed postcards that have made a hit at the exhibition.

Some intangible heritage products also introduced the Asian-elephant elements for new designs, and patterns of elephants have appeared on the traditional embroidery pieces of the Yi ethnic group at the expo.

Unveiling at the Kunming Guanshang International Convention and Exhibition Center on October 27, the 2021 cultural event focuses on the ethnic cultures, creative products and cultural projects. The Yunnan culture expo was incepted in 2013.
