Egret flocks seen in old trees in Fuyuan

Recent aerial photos showed flocks of egrets resting and foraging in lush woods in Yumai Village, Mohong Town of east Yunnan’s Fuyuan County.

"Since the eco-environment was bettered these years, the number of egrets has risen from dozens to hundreds," said Wu Shuisheng, a local villager. Every year, the flocks of white birds inhabit on the old trees, forming a beautiful picture of ecology.

Egrets are siad to be particular about the habitat. They like living in aquatic areas: swamps, lakes, damp forests and  wetlands. They feed on little fish and shells.
