Relax yourself at water town in Mile
Located in Mile city, south Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture, the Honghe water town has witnessed much of the city’s slow lifestyle. Traveling along the river, people can enjoy its most fascinating spots.
A city gate called ‘Qianwangmen’ stands tall in front of the town, telling the history of the famous businessman Wang Chi, known as "king of money" in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1912).
The river snakes through bridges with streets on both banks. Visitors are amazed by the garden-like architectures that stand quiet and elegant.
Local shops sell pieces of calligraphy, tea, pottery and other handicrafts. When dusk falls, the lanterns will illuminate the shops with an air of ancient times.
The classical architectures combine six building styles of Beijing, Shanxi, Anhui, Fujian, Yunnan, and Sichuan. The water town is a good place to relax after a day’s work.
