Forest book bar debuts in Mile for new year
Mile city in south Yunnan’s Honghe Hani and Yi autonomous prefecture opened its first reading room in the Ranweng forest park the other day to welcome the New Year’s Day.
The forest park was named after Sun Ranweng, a poet and Yunnan native who wrote famed long couplet at the Dagun Park in Kunming, but passed away in Mile in 1774.
Featuring plain interior decoration, the 2500-square-meter book bar with two floors can accommodate about 100 readers at the same time. Readers can choose from tens of thousands of books covering popular novels, classic literature, popular science biography and more.
Outside the windows of the book bar are the lush woods. Standing on the second floor, readers can overlook the entire city and relax in a beverage area.
