Tibetan festival marked in Shangri-la

The 2022 Tibetan New Year began on March 3 this year. The festival usually starts on the first day of the first month of the Tibetan calendar and ends in 15 days. It is the best time for Tibetans to get together with their relatives and friends.

In northwest Yunnan’s Diqing Tibetan autonomous prefecture, folks dress up in festive costumes and have a special Guozhuang dance, along with music from a three-stringed instrument.
