The project of "Natural Image China—Beautiful and Ecological Dehong" which lasted for more than one year came to its end recently. A vast number of high-quality pictures and videos of rare wild species were taken throughout the project implemented in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, China’s southwestern Yunnan Province.

Launched in November 2016, the project saw a participation of about 100 participators who took a total of 200,000 photos and videos. Among them, the images of wild tragopan blythii are those captured for the first time in the wilderness in China and there are also photos of the largest group of the Phayre's leaf monkeys in in the country so far.

In a bid to get the best moments of wild life, photographers had to spend about three quarters of a year in the mountains. It took a lot of patience and courage, and knowledge about wild animals and living in the wilderness was also needed. Zeng Xiangle, one of the photographers, is deeply attracted by the natural beauty of Dehong. He said that he always set out early in the morning, climbed through the cliffs and forests with heavy photographic equipment, and returned late in the night.

While complementing the database for Dehong's natural ecological protection, these photos and videos also show the natural beauty of the prefecture.
