Yunnan-made phones go global

The smart phone brand Fuxin is less known to Chinese people, but it is very popular in South and Southeast Asian countries and even in South America. Fuxin smart phones are produced in Fumin County, central Yunnan and are competitive products in the foreign trade of the county.

Last April, the Fuxin Communication Technology Company, headquartered in Shenzhen, decided to invest a production base in Fumin. Five months later, 10 mobile phone assembly lines and 10 mobile phone motherboard SMT patch production lines were put into operation. According to the design, 4,000 phones can roll off each production line per day.

To upgrade its industry, Fumin County has made greater efforts in introducing high-tech companies in recent years. The government provided high-quality services to the building of the assembly and production lines of Fuxin. 120 days after signing the agreement with Fumin County, Fuxin produced its first smart phone in Fumin. Since last September, the company has produced a total of 4.5 million mobile phones of various types. Its import and export volume reached US$96.85 million, accounting for 71.8% of the total of Fumin.
