Yunnan launches mobile app to better serve tourists
Yunnan Province has officially rolled out a travelling application "Tour in Yunnan on the Phone" or "E-Travel in Yunnan" on March 2, in an effort to provide tourists with easy, fast and unified information service.
This tour app's birth is directly taken care of by Yunnan government, and the app features its tourist-orientedness. Chen Shun, Yunnan vice governor, indicated at the launching meeting in Beijing.
Tour in Yunnan on the Phone is a mobile based tool that serves as a one-stop-shop where tourists can access updated, reliable and practical information as well as other services.
Powered by Tencent, a leading provider of Internet services in China,
the mobile application leverages artificial intelligence and the widespread use of mobile telecommunications to make it a secure, objective and user-friendly app.
"The application is designed to allow tourist to enjoy easy travelling, with the government supervision everywhere," said Jia Jiaya, a prominent scientist at Tencent. Ma added China currently has 724 million internet users and more than 500 million are conducting their daily payment on the smart mobile phones.
The app will soon be available for download at online software stores and is readily for service across Yunnan, and it covers all the areas that have access to the 4G network.
The updated Yunnan tourism information can also be directly accessed by the mini programs on WeChat, a facebook-like social media popular in China.
