Dipping into smart tourism in Yunnan

Updated:2018-10-22 11:06:22   Yunnan Gateway

Do you want to experience smart tourism in Yunnan Province, together with people from Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam? Are you looking for business partners and opportunities under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism?

On November 1, we will have a free experiencing trip to the Shilin/Stone Forest scenic area, inviting in-Yunnan students from the Lancang-Mekong countries to know more about the brand-new and smart mobile App “Travel in Yunnan”.

We want to have 10 international students in Yunnan join us for a discussion on smart tourism in China. (Attached at the bottom is the schedule)

So, what should smart tourism in Yunnan be like? Here are the major concerns we’ve collected so far, and you’re welcome to add something.

Easy parking

Many tourists want to know in advance where to park the car and whether the parking space is sufficient or not. A parking lot with a screen showing such data would greatly help those who travel by their own cars.

No waiting for tickets

Others think that using a facial-recognition device at the entrance is a good idea because it allows them to have access within seconds and waiting in a long line for tickets can be avoided.

Real-time guide

Some think it good that most scenic areas in Yunnan are equipped with a real-time audio guide and the “Travel in Yunnan” app can even help tourists identify the flowers and plants that interest them.

Mobile map

It is great that the map can navigate and show the snack areas, parking lots, restrooms and ticket offices in the scenic area, while indicating toll stations and airports in the surrounding areas.

Easy shopping

“Whenever I want to buy Yunnan specialties, I can get the authentic ones,” one said.

High-speed net

Live streaming shows the destinations directly and presents you most favored tourist attractions based on your interest.

Direct complaint-making

In the event of something unpleasant, you can easily make a complaint, which will be resolved within 24 hours.

Actually, such conveniences can all be found at the “Travel in Yunnan” app, a platform for the smart and holistic tourism in Yunnan.

The travel app was officially launched on October 1, and Yunnan ushers in a new era of smart tourism

What is smart tourism like? How to employ it? Is it possible to apply the idea to the Lancang-Mekong countries to inject new vigor for cooperation?

On November 1, 2018, the topics will be addressed by 10 plus participants from China, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and more.

If you are an international student in Yunnan, you’re welcome to join us and share your ideas.

Please leave us a message that includes your name, school, nationality and phone number. You can also send an e-mail at 835753529@qq.com.

We warmly invite you to the Stone Forest area, with all expenses covered by our side.

Right here, we’ll be waiting for you.
