Aiding seminars for Laos and Nepal kick off
The 2019 Seminar on Governmental and Private Investment Project Evaluation for Laos, the 2019 Seminar on Construction of the Cross-border Economic Cooperation Zones for Laos and the 2019 Seminar on Construction of Cross-border Economic Cooperation Zones for Nepal opened in Kunming, Yunnan province on July 16.
The seminars are sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, organized by Yunnan International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (YICETE), and co-organized by School of Overseas Education, Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.
Within 2019, the YICETE will undertake 42 foreign-aid seminars, an increase of 55.5% year on year. 14 of the seminars will cover Yunnan’s eight key industries of biomedicine and general health, cultural tourism, and modern plateau agriculture and others, and 9 of the seminars involve cross-border economic cooperation zones, economic corridors, ports, logistics, and cattle breeding, all central to Yunnan’s economic work.
These projects will be conducive to growth of the key industries and the economic tasks in Yunnan, facilitating Yunnan’s socio-economic development and its role to be a China’s pivot of opening up facing south and southeast Asia.
The YICETE will bring in experts and scholars from the Chinese government, universities and related fields, who will share with the seminar participants on China’s experiences in economic performance. The seminar participants will also visit developed Chinese cities such as Beijing,Tianjin, Guangzhou and Shenzhen to learn about China’s development achievements in related fields.
At the same time, the YICETE will arrange cultural activities for the seminar attendees to experience the traditional Chinese cultures and distinct Yunnan ethnic cultures, allowing them to understand China in depth.
In July, the YICETE will carry out 7 seminars for Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal and Benin.
