2019 China-Myanmar International Mountain bike challenge set for October
Enthusiastic mountain bikers may participate in many races, but how about cycling between two countries?
The 2019 Ruili China and Muse Myanmar International Mountain bike challenge will be held in Ruili, southwest China's Yunnan province on October 2, with the course winding its way across the border with Myanmar and back again.
"Around 500 participants are expected to compete in 37.5 kilometers," said organizing committee spokesman Zhu Minyun on Wednesday, "all the participants who finish the race will be awarded a medal that was made of spray jade, and Myanmar runners will be presented with the special Paukphaw Friendship Award," he added.
Located in west Yunnan's Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Ruili is a city on the China-Myanmar border. The race covers 19 kilometers in Muse of Myanmar before recrossing the border back to Ruili.
This year's Mountain bike challenge is the second edition of the event.
