ASEAN countries attend workshop on radio programing in Laos
A number of media professionals from ASEAN countries discussed and exchanged the best practices in radio programing at a two-day workshop in Lao capital Vientiane.
The two-day workshop that began on Monday aimed at providing an opportunity to all participants to share and present the best practices in radio programing, local daily Vientiane Times reported on Wednesday.
The participants shared their experiences and exchanged skills about the functioning of their radio stations in their respective countries.
Participants had a chance to learn and hold discussions on how to create and make radio content more attractive and increase the number of listeners who tune into their stations.
The workshop was counted as a mandatory practical session to be attended by participants. The participants presented and delivered content from their respective countries on creating awareness about ASEAN awareness on Lao National Radio on day 2.
Director General of Lao National Radio Phosy Keomanivong delivered the opening remarks, welcomed the participants and explained the background of the event.
Attending the event were ambassadors, representatives from the ASEAN member states' embassies to Laos, ASEAN delegates and guests.
Phosy said "I am of the view that media authorities and agencies in ASEAN have contributed significantly and played an important role in the exchange of current affairs news and news about economic and socio-cultural developments within the region and overseas."
