Most luxurious ‘wedding car’: Young man picks up bride by bullet train

January 21 was the first day of the 2019 “Spring Festival Travel Rush” (also known as Chunyun). For He Xueqiang, a young man from west Yunnan’s Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, it is his red letter day. He got married on this day.

But if there were no high-speed rail, He Xueqiang would worried about how to pick up his bride Zhang Ruili who lives in southeast Yunnan’s Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture nearly 700 kilometers away. 

Usually it takes about more than 10 hours by car from Dali to Wenshan. But by bullet train, the ride is reduced to four hours and twenty-five minutes. This was a great help for the newly-wed. Some people joked that He’s “wedding car” is the most luxurious.

During the “Spring Festival Travel Rush”, there are two bullet trains running from Wenshan to Dali every day. “Bullet train is convenient and efficient. It is memorable to start my big day in this way.” He Xueqiang said.
