Tasty Lao dishes to be liked by Yunnan tourists

When the China-Laos railway opens to traffic in 2012, the morning train from Kunming will reach Xishuangbanna in 3 hours and Vientiane in the evening. More Yunnan tourists are expected to visit Laos, and here are some tasty Lao dishes that will be favored by them.

No.1: Laap

Laab, also known as Larb , is a typical dish in Laos. It's usually eaten as a part of a set (laab, papaya, pepper, parsley, tomato, and sticky rice). Similar to Dali's raw hides, it has a unique taste.

No.2: Grilled sausage

A popular food in Luang Prabang, the grilled sausage is a must-try dish featuring tropical herbs and spices.

No.3: Papaya

The pounded papaya is highly visible in Laos. It is sour, delicious, a most popular dish in Laos.

No.4: Hot pot

The Lao hot pot is coupled with a barbecue, with the BBQ stove embedded in the middle. The dipping sauce can be made by the diner.

No.5: Rice noodles

Though looking like rice noodles in Yunnan, the Luang Prabang rice noodles taste different. For people in Yunnan, you’d better to visit there and try it in preson.
